Word has been received this morning of the death of Walter, the fourteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Johnson, who live on a farm about five miles southwest of town. He was in school Friday but was taken sick very suddenly Saturday with brain fever. He grew worse rapidly and Dr. McCanahan, of Omaha, was called in consultation but nothing and no one could save him, death coming last evening at about 5:30. From present arrangement the funeral will be held at the house at 12 o’clock Friday.

Also published in the Enterprise:

Walter, the fourteen year old son of Magnus Johnson, died at the home of his parents Tuesday evening, after an illness of about three days. The cause of death is given as brain fever.

Walter had apparently been in good health until last Sunday morning when his condition became bad and a noted Omaha physician was summoned, but the skill of medical science availed nothing and the young man passed away at the time above stated. Funeral services were held from the home Saturday at 12 o’clock.

This is a sad blow to the relatives of the deceased as the boy was an exceptionally bright and clever young fellow and the friends of the family extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.
