Leila A. Giberson, 96

Services for Leila A. Giberson, 96, of Fremont who died December 16, 1993, were Saturday, December 18, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Scott Postlewait officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Leila A. Giberson was born March 6, 1897, in Broken Bow. She was raised at Broken Bow and graduated from Broken Bow High School.

She taught school in the Sand Hills for four years. She moved to Dunning, Nebraska, in the early 1920s and came to Fremont in 1940. She was a sales clerk at Schweser’s Department Store in Fremont for 27 years.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church at Arlington and the Fremont Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She married Harold W. Giberson December 26, 1917, at Manhattan, Kansas. He preceded her in death November 24, 1953.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Thompson Shackelford; an infant brother and a brother, William and sisters, Clella Kaup and Bertha Broyler.

She is survived by a son, Harold M. Giberson of Urbana, Missouri; daughters, Clella (Mrs. Joseph) Frolio of Omaha and Lorraine (Mrs. Clarence) Wilkening of Fremont; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Troy Fluckey, Aaron Fluckey, Wade Fluckey, Kevin Spencer, Jeff Frolio and Terry Frolio.

Ruby House was organist. Melvin Misfeldt was soloist.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
