Edna L. Gieselman, 99

Edna L. Gieselman, 99, of Arlington, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers and the Rev. Phillip Vance officiated.

Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington.

Edna L. Gieselman was born April 23, 1900, to John G. and Hannah (Jacob) Giesselman in Arlington.

She grew up in Arlington and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Midland College in Fremont.

While living in Fremont, she was employed in domestic work.

She moved to California and Colorado and settled in Omaha during World War II where she worked in the Martin Bomber Plant. Later, she was employed in the clerical department at Woodmen of the World.

Retired by 1969, she continued to stay active, working at a home for retired teachers in Omaha.

Two years ago, she moved to Fremont and became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

She is survived by her sister, Leona Nieman of Wayne; sister-in-law, Verona Giesselman of Arlington; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edward, Albert and Harry; and four sisters, Emma Toebben, Ella Miller, Alice Riley and Clara Vogt.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
