Dr. Harry J. Giesselman, 69

Dr. Harry J. Giesselman, 69, of Seward, died April 9, 2000, in Lincoln.

Services were Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Burial was in the Seward Cemetery with military graveside services.

Harry Giesselman was born July 29, 1930, to Harry and Verona (Lentz) Giesselman, in Arlington.

On June 1, 1957, he married Lois Panwitz in Lincoln. He worked as a professor of music at Concordia University. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and PhD. Graduate of Columbia University in New York, N.Y.

He was a member of the Seward Kiwanis, the director of the Kiwanis Kitones and the former director of Celebrate Singers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife Lois; his mother, Verona Giesselman of Fremont; a son, Bryan Giesselman and his fiancée, Kathy Weiekel, of Aurora, Color.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Laural and John Anderson, Linda and John Cahoon, and Cindy Giesselman, all of Seward; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Carol Giesselman of Omaha; a sister, Lila Sheer of Arlington; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Seward Kitones.

Volzke Mortuary of Seward was in charge of arrangements.
