Mrs. Daisy Gilbert Died Here Friday

Mrs. Daisy Gilbert, 88, died at Blair Friday, August 16th. She had been a resident of Blair for the past year, but was well-known here, being a sister of Raymond Caddock, of Blair.

Mrs. Gilbert was born at Morris, Illinois, January 8th, 1880. Her parents were farmers who later moved to a homestead near Huron, South Dakota. As a young woman she studied music in Chicago and developed an intense interest in the work of the church.

In 1903 she was married to Henry C. Carlson who became a Vice President of Armour & Co. He died in 1930. Three years later she was married to James G. Gilbert, who was a minister serving assemblies in several states. Rev. Gilbert died in 1959.

Mrs. Gilbert moved to her own home in Blair a year ago.

Mrs. Gilbert is survived by a son, James G. Gilbert of Statesville, North Carolina, two grandchildren and two brothers. The brothers are Robert Allen, of Adair, Iowa, and Raymond Henry Caddock, of Blair. Another brother, John Edward Caddock, of Monrovia, California, died Thursday, August 15th.

Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday, August 20th at 10 A.M. and at Rolland’s Mortuary in Atlantic, Iowa, at 2:30 P.M. Interment will be made at Atlantic.
