Huston H. Edmondson

Huston H. Edmondson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Edmondson, was born April 6, 1875, at McKinney, Texas. Mrs. Edmondson moved to Rosehill, Va., after the early death of her husband. There in the healthful, out-of-doors, mountain climate, Huston grew to manhood, working as brakeman, lumberman and at odd jobs.

In 1903 Mr. Edmondson came to Nebraska, settling near Hastings, where he worked for two years as a farm hand.

He was united in marriage with Susie Anne Stoetzel on May 16, 1905, at Norton, Kansas, and farmed near Rexford during the next six years.

In 1912 Mr. Edmondson moved his family to Arlington in which locality he has since farmed, with the exception of one year spent in Hastings, where he worked as a carpenter.

Houston had always been in excellent health until stricken a year ago. During his illness, he refused to be a burden to his family and it was only after the death of his mother on March 5, that Mr. Edmondson became bedfast, passing away Friday, March 19, at 10:15 a.m., aged 67 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Besides his wife, three sons are left to mourn his death; Howard and Laverne of Arlington, and Marvin of Wichita, Kans. He also leaves behind one grandson, Galen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Edmondson.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Methodist Church, Rev. David Simpson, officiating, with burial in the Arlington Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W. E. Webb, J. O. Marshall, Fritz Houerman, Richard Melvard, Glen Masters and Lee Hester.
