Anita E. Anderson, 97, of Blair died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Anita E. Kruse was born Dec. 4, 1914, to John and Margaretha (Harder) Kruse. She was the oldest of four children.

Her grandparents, Wilhelm and Abel Kruse, were founding members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. 

She married Clarence 'Andy' Anderson on Mother's Day,   May 8, 1938, in Bennington.

The couple moved to Blair in 1950.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Anderson of Northampton, Mass., and Clare Cowing of Blair; son-in-law Clark of Blair; grandsons, Chris Cowing of Blair, Preston Cowing and his wife, Gay Lynn, of New Ulm, Minn.; two great -grandchildren, Gunnar and Jackie Cowing of New Ulm; one brother, Byron Kruse of Ponca; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kruse of Elkhorn; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy on May 6, 1999; brothers, Arnold and Irwin; two sisters-in-law; and two nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Odyssey Hospice or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel.

Note: It seems she was cremated. In 2023 a funeral card with many photos and the obituary was recycled at Washington County Recycling. The photos are on the physical card in the Blair Library
