Penny Lynn Gilbertson-Ruiz died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, after losing a battle with cancer.

A memorial service was held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.

Ruiz’s family said her greatest accomplishment was her work with children, the disabled and the handicapped.

She was united in marriage to her husband, Ralph, in 1994.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Christopher and Shawn; two daughters, Jena and Amanda and two granddaughters, Hope and Torena.

Memorials are suggested to the Memorial Community Hospital in her name.
