Pearl F. Block, 84, of Blair, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Pearl Frances Streich was born Aug. 15, 1925, to Henry and Margaret (Ness) Streich of Browns Valley, Minn.

On Sept. 19, 1944, she married Emil John Block. The couple had 10 children.

Mrs. Block was a long time member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, and a lifelong member of T.O.P.S. and K.O.P.S. In her younger years, she worked as a nurse's aide at Memorial Community Hospital. She was also a day care provider in her home for eight years, and then was hired by Kiddie Care Day Care Center.

She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Paul Farrell of Gulfport, Miss., Emily and Louis Nappolini of Blair, Lois and Tim Kuhr of Washington, Utah, Corinne Gearhart and friend Terry Jacobsen of DeSoto, Mo., Robin and Tom Henderson of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda Block of Greenwood Village, Colo., Roger and Sharon Block of Benton, Kan., Michael Block and friend, Stacey Reynolds, of Camano Island, Wash.; daughter-in-law Ann Block of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, LaVern Streich of Michigan, Richard Streich of Minnesota, and Daniel Streich of California.

She was preceded in death, by an infant daughter, Geraldine Maryanne; beloved husband, Emil; granddaughter, Holly Marie Farrell; sons-in-law, Jerry Lee Jensen Sr. and Matthew Gearhart; son, Rodney; sister, Lois Bailey; and brother, Henry Streich.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community or American Heart Association.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
