Clifford Gilliam Dies In Omaha Wednesday, Sept. 29

Clifford E. Gilliam, a brother of John (Pete) Gilliam of Blair, died Wednesday, September 29, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Death was attributed to cancer.

The deceased was a native of Blair, having been born here January 13, 1913. He grew up and attended school in Blair and joined the United States Navy in 1928. He spent 16 years in the Navy and then entered Civil Service work in Washington as a Custodial Engineer. Later he transferred to Omaha.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, who is not a native of this area, and by one daughter, Mrs. Jeri Degraw of Joppatowne, Maryland. There are two grandchildren.

A brother, John Gilliam, of Blair and a brother, Benjamin of Whittier, California, survive. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Ada Anderson of Blair and Mrs. Vivian Larsen of Creighton, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Cathedral in Omaha Friday and burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.
