Daughter Gilliam

A case of diphtheria developed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gilliam on Monday of last week and the pall of the dreadful disease bore away their little five-year-old daughter who died on Thursday morning at eleven o’clock. The little child had been sick but four days and there is another one, Vivian, who is sick with the malady, but is rapidly recovering.

No funeral services were held owing to the nature of the disease, burial taking place Thursday afternoon at the local cemetery. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved parents and family in their hour of sorrow.
