Lucille J. Eddy, 76, of Blair, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in Blair's Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m.

Lucille J. Matheny was born March 20, 1931, in Omaha to Stephen and Madeline (Balda) Matheny. She was a 1948 graduate of Tech High School

On Aug. 19, 1950, she married John D. Eddy.

Mrs. Eddy was an avid lover of the game of bridge and enjoyed spending time with her many bridge clubs, working toward earning the level of a master player. She enjoyed reading and sewing. She even joined the two loves by writing and publishing a book on sewing.

Her children and grandchildren were always her greatest source of joy. She also loved her many pets.

She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.

She is survived by her children: Christine Fountain of Lake Linden, Mich., Cynthia Garcia of Pleasant Lake, Mich., Cheryl Kenner of Rocklin, Calif., Claudia Davis of Omaha, Caryn Anderson of Blair, Catherine Michl of Urbandale, Iowa, John Eddy of Burwell, and Coreen LeBlanc of Lincoln; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeri Draper.
