The funeral of Mrs. Ephraim Gilliam was held at the home of her son, Curtis, last Thursday forenoon, Rev. Frank Warren officiating.

Deceased was born in North Carolina Sept. 28th, 1832, and was therefore past 83 years of age. She was married there to Ephraim Gilliam in 1854, going first to Indiana and later to this state, settling in the Summers school district in 1867. They lived there for over twenty years before moving to this city.

Besides the aged husband there are four sons now living, Curtis and Charles, of this city, and John and James, of near Tekamah. Three daughters preceded her to the great beyond.
