RAY CROWDY, 36, IS DEATH VICTIM

BLAIR MAN DIED TUESDAY IN HOSPITAL AT ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA

Ray Crowdy, aged 36, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Crowdy of Blair, died Tuesday night at St. Joseph’s hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he had gone February 22 for treatment. Crowdy had been in ill health since undergoing three major operations in 1934.

He was born on a farm near Blair December 20, 1899, and had been a local resident all his life. For the past 15 years he had been a railroad employee.

Surviving are his parents, three brothers, William Crowdy of Sioux City, Theodore and George of Blair; and four sisters, Mrs. Hans Lebbert of Bennington, Mrs. Don Blume of Omaha, Mrs. Victor Johnson and Mrs. Sam Morning of Blair.

The body is at the Bendorf Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, the Rev. D.A. McCullough officiating. Interment will be in Blair cemetery.

RAYMOND CROWDY DIES IN St. PAUL OF 2 YEAR ILLNESS

Funeral Rites to be Held in Blair Friday at M. E. Church at 2 P.M.

Raymond Crowdy, 36, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crowdy and a native Blair boy, died Tuesday in a hospital at St. Paul, Minn., where he had been undergoing medical treatment since February 22. News of his death came as a shock to the family, it being understood by relatives here that his condition recently had been considered favorable. He had been in ill health since a serious operation two years ago.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at the Methodist church in Blair with Rev. D.A. McCullough, the pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Blair cemetery.

Raymond was born on a farm in the Bench neighborhood on December 20, 1899, and attended rural and Blair schools. He spent his young manhood in Blair and had a large acquaintance in this vicinity.

Surviving are the parents and three brothers and four sisters. They are Theodore, George and William Crowdy, the latter of Sioux City; and Mrs. Don Blume, Omaha, Mrs Victor Johnson and Mrs. Sam Morning, both of Blair and Mrs. Hans Lebbert of Bennington.
