George Gilliland, 70

Former Blair resident George Gilliland, 70, of Largo, Fla., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at the Largo Medical Center in Largo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

George Gilliland was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Omaha to Albert “Bud” and Agnes (Ackermann) Gilliland. He was a resident of Blair for 50 years. For more than 20 years, he was a valuable member of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Amy of Bloomington, Minn.; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Kendrick of Tampa, Fla., Debra and Royal Waguespack of Houston, Texas, Sandi of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sister, Marie, of Blair; nine grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward “Jack”, Fred “Bus”, Albert, William, and Lyle; and a son, David.
