Roma H. Gilliland, 81

Services for Roma H. Gilliland, 81, of Decatur, who died August 17, 1994, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, were Saturday, August 20, 1994, at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Rev. Kenneth Jensen officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Roma Henritta Miller Gilliland was born November 6, 1912, at Herman, Nebraska. She was one of eight children born to Peter A. and Emma E. Janssen Miller.

She attended Bell Center rural school west of Herman and graduated from Herman High School in 1930.

She married Raymond Gilliland October 11, 1936. They farmed in various communities around Tekamah and Walthill.

She was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

She was a member of the A. A. R. P. and the Decatur Senior Citizen Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1962; two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by two sisters, Viola West of Herman and Maxine Bragg of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a brother, Walter Miller of Tekamah.

Casket bearers were Truman Marsh, Lester Shaw, Liton Puffer, Jim Jensen, Calvin Bruce and Gary Thompson. Honorary casket bearers were Herb Gamet, Orlo Teeters, Jim West and Don McKain.

Marilyn Petersen was soloist. Pearl Anderson was organist.
