MORRIS CHRISTENSEN DIED IN VIRGINIA SATURDAY, JULY 4

Morris Christensen, retired farmer who had been a familiar figure on Blair streets for a number of years, died Saturday, July 4th at Chesapeake, Virginia. He was visiting his son, Glenn, at the time of his death.

Mr. Christensen, who was 81 years old, was a native of Herman, having been born there April 4th, 1889. He farmed in the area west of Herman all his life until the time of his retirement. His wife preceded him in death, having died in 1945.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter.

The sons are Dean B. Christensen of Norfolk, Virginia; Clarence Christensen, of Herman, Nebraska; and Glenn, of Chesapeake, Virginia. The daughter is Mrs. Hazel Davis, of Denver, Colorado. There are 9 grandchildren. A brother Chris Christensen and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Iverson survive him. Two brothers, Albert, of Little Falls, Minnesota and Louis, of Parkston, South Dakota, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Sanford D. Sorgen of the First Lutheran Church conducted the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

The pallbearers were Mac Cameron, Chris L. Andersen, Lyle Hindley, Edward Grabbe, Floyd Magill and Delmar Gosker.
