Howard J. Edmondson, 87

Services for Howard J. Edmondson, 87, who died September 22, 1993, at Arbor Manor in Fremont were Saturday, September 25 at Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery with Masonic graveside services conducted by members of the Hiram Lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M. or Arlington.

Howard J. Edmondson was born May 28, 1906, at Rexford, Kansas. His family moved to a farm near Arlington when he was a young boy and he graduated from Arlington High School. He attended Midland College at Fremont. After college, he worked for Marshall Nursery.

He was a former member and past president of the Arlington School Board. He was a member of Arlington Community Church where he taught Sunday School and served on various committees of the church. Since 1956 he was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M. of Arlington and was a Past Master of the lodge in 1962. He was a member of Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 and a member and past president of Western Nurseryman Association. He was a former member and past president of the Arlington Community Club.

He married Vivian McClellan November 6,1937, at Red Oak, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Susan Stoetzell Edmondson and two brothers, Laverne Edmondson and Marvin Edmondson.

Pallbearers were Melvin Sorensen, John Sorensen, Matthew Hilgenkamp, Everett Trisler, Leland Wolfe, Larry Moravec and Charles House.

Honorary pallbearers were John Dole, Les McKem, H.U. "Bud" Gaines, Howard Marshall and Charles Gard.

Ruby House was organist. Melvin Misfeldt was soloist. Memorials may go to Arlington Community Church or the Arlington Rescue Squad.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
