BRUCE R. COX BURIED JUNE 13

Bruce R. Cox of Ft. Calhoun, suffered a heart attack at his home Monday afternoon, June 10th and died at the Blair Community Memorial Hospital soon after.

He was born October 22nd, 1892 at Missouri Valley, and would have been 71 years of age this fall.

On January 3rd, 1910, he married Chloe Beckley of Missouri Valley. He was a railroad man between Missouri Valley and Fremont until 1912 when they moved to Ft. Calhoun and took up farming. He retired in 1954.

Mr. Cox was a public spirited man and contributed greatly to activities of the Ft. Calhoun community. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and served as mayor of Ft. Calhoun for two terms. He also was a County Commissioner for 14 years.

Survivors besides his wife Chloe, are two daughters, Mrs. Gus Kruse (Irene) of Omaha and Mrs. Richard Larsen (Nelle) of Ft. Crook. Also ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son, Bill Cox, died in 1959. A sister, Mrs. Meta Richardson of Council Bluffs; a half brother, Bob Thompson of Lohrville, Iowa and a half sister, Mrs. Lucile Fisher of Adel, Iowa, also survive him.

The Sievers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jack B. Mauldin officiating. Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery in Missouri Valley.

Pallbearers will be Allen Rasmussen, Bill Kay, Joe Stratbucker, Carlos Dey, Howard Bilderback and John Elvers.

Honorary pallbearers are: Geo. Neale, Ernest Kruse, Bill Stratbucker, Art Clausen, Claus Mehrens and R.R. Braley.
