Karl A. Andersen (1917-1996)

Karl A. Andersen was born on January 20, 1917 in Omaha, Nebraska to Mary (Frank) and Carl Peterson. Karl was adopted by Mary’s second husband, Elliott Andersen. Karl spent his youth in Omaha. He served in World War II and married Edythia B (nee) Pritchard following the war. They moved to Seattle, Washington where they both worked for Boeing Aircraft for many years. Karl was a member of the Renton, WA BPOE. He served as their leader twice and spent many hours following his retirement working at the Elk’s Club. Karl suffered from diabetes in his later life. When he was no longer able to care for himself Karl moved to assisted living in Mesa, AZ, near his step-son, Merritt Rosenbaum.

Karl died December 9, 1996. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frank L. Peterson, Anderson Sutjie, and his wife Edythia. Surviving him were his step-son and wife, Merritt and Dorothy Rosenbaum of Mesa, AZ, 4 step grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Note: Karl is buried in the Kennard Cemetery, Washington County, NE
