GUSTAV KAHNK KILLED IN TRACTOR ACCIDENT

Funeral services for Gustav Kahnk of Kennard were held Wednesday afternoon, November 27, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Blair, The Reverend Stanley Peterson officiated at the service.

Mr. Kahnk was killed in a tractor accident which occurred about 11:30 A.M., Saturday. He was operating a tractor with which he was unfamiliar, and in some manner engaged the clutch when he wished to shut the tractor off. The rear wheel of the tractor passed over his chest.

Gustav Detluf Kahnk, 69, was born at Kennard July 28, 1899, and died November 23, 1968. He was the son of August Kahnk and Lena Mathiesen Kahnk. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Kuhr Kahnk; a daughter, Mrs. Merle Andersen (Mardelle) of Blair; and three sons, Milo G. Kahnk of Kennard, and Donald L. Kahnk and Rolland Kahnk, both of Fremont. There were 13 grandchildren.

He is also survived by five sisters: Mrs. Ben Martens, of Fremont, Mrs. William Hansen, Omaha; and Mrs. Marie Taylor, Mrs. Lillian Ackley, and Mrs. Claire Bixby, all of California; and four brothers, Louie and Arthur of Omaha, John of Grand Island, and Harry of Cedar Bluffs.
