HARRY A. KAHNK, 98

Harry A. Kahnk, 98, of Fremont, died Saturday, Jan 28, 2006, at Nye Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be at Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Harry A. Kahnk was born July 29, 1907, in Kennard to August and Lena (Mathiesen) Kahnk. He grew up in Kennard and Craig and attended Ranch School in rural Craig.

On May 20, 1936, he married Alice E. French in Fremont. After their marriage, the couple farmed north of Fremont until 1944, then farmed two miles south of Cedar Bluffs. In 1992, Mr. Kahnk moved to Fremont, where he lived at Nye Square, then lived at Nye Court before moving to Nye Point in 2005.

He was a longtime member of the Saunders County District No. 60 Board, and served as its treasurer for 20 years.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Judy Kahnk of Elkhorn; sister, Marie Taylor, and sister-in-law, Norma Juul, both of Blair; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in 1984; and 10 brothers and sisters.
