Marie Eckhoff is buried in Iowa

Services were Friday, January 27, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Marie E. Eckhoff, 85, who died January 25, 1984, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

The Rev. Earl Higgens of Calvary Methodist Church of Fremont officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa.

Marie E. Eckhoff was born November 10, 1898, at Jamaica, Iowa. She grew up at Arlington and graduated from high school there. She also lived at Hampton and Red Oak, Iowa, before moving to Washington, D.C., where she lived for 21 years before retiring. After retirement, she moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She moved to Fremont in 1980.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah's White Shrine Ammarants, Shrinettes, Elks Ladies and the BPW, all in Florida.

She learned the printing trade at the fromer Arlington Review Herald at Arlington. She was a linotype operator at the Washington Post, Washington, D.C., until retiring in 1968.

She married Marcus Eckhoff April 25, 1940, at the Little Brown Church in the Valley at Nashau, Iowa. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Pauline Anderson of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews, including Ann Kucera of Fremont whith whom she made her home.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
