FEW PIONEERS REMAINING IN COUNTY, YEAR’S TOLL HEAVY

Since the Pioneer and Old Settler picnic of a year ago, fifteen of those hardy pioneers who settled in this state prior to March 1, 1867, have answered the call common to mankind and this leaves the already thinned ranks much thinner and, but a short time now, Father Time will take the last of this hardy race.

Those answering the call during the past year are: (name and year of arriving in Washington County - - 75+ years ago. They are referred to as “pioneers.”)
