James J. Weston Jr., 61, of Blair

James J. Weston Jr., 61, of Blair died Friday, May 25, 2012, at his home in Blair.

A mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

James J. Weston Jr. was born on July 11, 1950, in Seward to James J. and Thelma (Housley) Weston.

He graduated from Sutton High School in 1968. He attended Hastings Community and then Lincoln School of Commerce where he earned a degree in computer programming.

He met Tylene Lehman while in school in Lincoln and they were married on July 18, 1970, in Stapleton.

In 1971, they moved to North Platte where he worked building houses. In the early 80s, he began working for Great Plains Communications in Stapleton. In 1999, he and his family moved to Blair. He retired from Great Plains in 2009.

Mr. Weston was an avid fan of cars, especially 1964 Chevy Impalas, and restored several during his lifetime. He enjoyed Nascar racing and traveled to several different racetracks. He also enjoyed going deep sea fishing when he had the opportunity and feeding the wild birds and squirrels at his home in Blair.

The thing that brought him more enjoyment than anything else was the time he spent with his family. He loved introducing them to his 1950’s and '60’s music, and cheering for the Huskers on football Saturdays as a family. He always had a special place in his heart for those with special needs, devoting his time and care.

He is survived by his wife, Tylene of Blair; daughter, Justy Bernardy and husband Pete; sons, Zane and Anthony Weston; one granddaughter, Sydney Bernardy; sisters, Ann Teetor and Mary Lubbers; and brothers, John, Bill and Jay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Mark Weston.
