Faye L. Hansen, 87

Faye I. Hansen, 87, of Blair, formerly of Minnesota, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel in Blair. No visitation is planned.

Faye Irene Hansen was born on November 11, 1924, in Sauk Centre, Minn., to Raymond R. and Lorena (Ward) DeLong. She grew up and graduated from high school in Sauk Centre.

On November 11, 1942, her 18th birthday, she was united in marriage to Stanley W. Hansen in Spicer, Minn.

The couple farmed in Spicer and Mrs. Hansen helped in any way she could.

After World War II, they moved to Worthington, Minn., where Mr. Hansen worked as a mechanic.

In 1964, they moved back to the farm and worked there until their retirement in 1988 when they moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Mr. Hansen died in 2003. The couple had been married 60 years.

In 2008, she moved from Minnesota to Good Shepherd in Blair.

Over the years, Mrs. Hansen enjoyed knitting and embroidery projects. She was always known to have a pristine garden and was an avid canner.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bihler of Omaha; son, Edd G. Hansen of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren and their spouses, Barb and Dennis Garrett of Blair, Corey and Kristi Bihler of Delaware, Ohio, Dawn and Dale Carpentier of Coon Rapids, Minn., Edd Hansen Jr. of Plymouth, Minn., Pete and Dawn Miller of Buffalo, Minn., LaMonte Hansen of Grand Junction, Colo., Brody and Elizabeth Hansen, of Greeley Colo., Renee and John Drahota of Loveland, Colo., Aaron and Elisabeth Hansen of Ft. Eustis, Va.; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; one brother; and six sisters.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
