George P. Glacey Jr., 53

George P. “Bubba” Glacey, Jr., 53, of Honey Creek, Iowa, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, of natural causes at the V. A. Medical Center in Omaha.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Club. Military rites will be held at the funeral home by American Legion Post 2. Cremation will follow the service with burial of the cremains in Grange Cemetery, Honey Creek.

George P. Glacey Jr. was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Omaha to George P. and Lois (Hankenholz) Glacey, Sr.

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968 and served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam. He worked in the city of Omaha’s Maintenance Department for 10 years before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather James of Blair; two grandsons; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Gerald Gilmore, Carter Lake, Iowa, and Patricia and Dan McGrath, Council Bluffs; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Julie Ann Glacey of Omaha; six nephews and two nieces.
