Florence V. Glasner, 83

Florence V. Glasner, 83, of Blair, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998.

A private family inurnment service will take place later at the Blair Cemetery.

Florence V. Andersen was born March 22, 1915, at Spiker to Jens Peder and Mary Christina Josephine (Nilsen) Andersen at their farm. Some of the land was homesteaded by her grandparents Christian and Ane Marie Andersen.

She was baptized May 17, 1915, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum, where she was later confirmed and became a member.

She attended Spiker School until her parents retired and moved to Blair. She graduated from Blair High School in 1932.

In 1933, she married John D. Schmidt. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1957.

On January 16, 1974, she married William Glasner. He died on June 28, 1979.

Mrs. Glasner’s interests were friends and flowers, music, sewing, travel, genealogy and family.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Virgene A. and Ronald D. Stricklett of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Gaye M. and Russell R. Moseman of Blair; grandchildren Russell J. Moseman of Blair, Ann Elizabeth Stricklett (Mrs. Stephen) Tipsword of Peach Tree City, Ga., Peter Kent and Alisa Stricklett of Salt Lake City and Susan Patrice Stricklett Schenk (Mrs. Peter) of Park City, Utah; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Kent and Brandon Scott Tipsword of Peach Tree City, Ga., Jessica Lynn, Morgan Anne and Nathan Deane Schenk of Park City, Utah; and one sister, Evelyn M. Metzler of Jerseyville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents and two brothers, Alfred C. Andersen and Arthur N. Andersen.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Orum.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
