James C. Glass Jr., 54

James C. Glass Jr., 54, of Omaha, died Oct. 12, 2007, in Omaha.

James Curtis Glass was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo., to former Blair residents, James and Wanda (Gilliam) Glass. He grew up in Rancho Cordova, Calif., and graduated from Cordova High School in 1971.

He spent much of his youth on the ball fields of Rancho Cordova, where he played both Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He also enjoyed working with cars.

After graduation, he served four years in the U. S. Army, and was honorably discharged. He moved to the Midwest and spent his adulthood working in the equipment rental industry.

He is survived by his former wife, Sylvie, daughter, Kelsey Glass of Arcata; son, James Glass of Cheyenne, Wyo.; mother, Wanda Glass, of Rancho Cordova; sisters and brother-in-law, Pamela and James Williamson of Omaha and Patricia Glass of Rancho Cordova; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Elena Glass of Orangevale, Calif., and Todd and Nancy Glass of Marlette, Mich.; numerous nieces and nephews; great-aunt, Ada Andersen of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; and grandparents, John “Pete” and Cora Gilliam.

Memorials are suggested to the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.
