Services To Be On Thursday For Adela Gnuse

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington for Mrs. Adela L. Gnuse, 88 years old, who died Monday, June 16, 1980, at Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Rev. Robert Backhus will officiate at the services. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation begins Wednesday morning.

Adela L. Gnuse was born on July 16, 1891, in San Antonio, Texas, to Herman and Anna Brunkow; she was raised at the Lutheran Orphanage at Fremont and lived her entire life in the Arlington area. She was a 70 year member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Women’s league, and a charter and 65-year member of the Bell Creek Club.

She married Herman Gnuse on April 20, 1910, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1922.

Her parents and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Albert (LaNetta) Bensen of Arlington, Mrs. Ada Wood, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Virgil (Marjorie) Hilgenkamp of Arlington; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Reckmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.

ARLINGTON - Mrs. Adela L. Gnuse, 88 years old of Arlington, died Monday at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County at Fremont.

Born on July 16, 1891, at San Antonio, Texas, she was raised at the Lutheran Orphanage at Fremont and lived her entire life in this area.
