On August 13, 1916, he was joined in marriage to Emelia nee’ Lallman at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hooper, Ne. Their marriage was blessed with a son and two daughters. The family farmed in the Fontanelle area until 1947, when they moved to Fremont. Mrs. Gnuse preceded her husband in death on June 1, 1956. Mr. Gnuse was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He departed this life on Friday, Nov. 3, 1978, in Omaha at the age of 88 years and 6 months.

He is survived by his son, Glenn, daughters: Mrs. Marjorie Krohn and Mrs. Jean Ninemire; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

His mortal remains are laid to rest in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, on this day, Nov. 7, 1978, following divine services at Trinity Lutheran Church.
