| Services for Chris L. Andersen, 91, of Crowell Memorial Home, Blair, formerly of Herman, who passed away December 4, 1986 at Crowell Home, were held Saturday, December 6, at 2 p.m. at the Herman Methodist Church.
Andersen, son of Anna and Peder Andersen, was born September 10, 1895, at Spiker, where he grew up.
He was married to Caroline Kay on February 27, 1918. They settled on a farm west of Herman where he farmed until failing health forced him to retire six years ago.
Survivors include two children, a daughter, Mrs. Clifforn (Carmen) Larsen; a son Donald Andersen and daughter-in-law Catherine of Herman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline after 54 years of marriage; two brothers and four sisters.
Other survivors include one brother, Peter of Herman; one sister, Lulu Wolsmann of Blair; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; many relatives and friends.
Pastor Larry Orvis officiated at the service. Pallbearers were David Rogert, Robert Arnold, Lyle Thiefoldt, Lyle Hindley, Robert Rasmussen, Jr. and Ray Magill.
Grace Husk was the organist and Lois Wachter, vocalist.
Camptell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Herman Cemetery. |
