Richard Gnuse Is Killed As Farm Tractor Goes Into Creek

Richard Gnuse, 13-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gnuse, was killed last Saturday afternoon when a tractor overturned on him.

The accident apparently happened when the tractor came too close to a creek and toppled over. A doctor was called to the scene but young Gnuse was already dead. He was reportedly partially buried in the mud.

He was born May 25, 1954, and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. He was an eighth grade student at Telbasta School.

Services for Richard Gnuse, 13, were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Rev. Otto Spehr officiated.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gnuse, two brothers, Rod and Larry; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Otteman, Hopper; and August Gnuse, Fremont.

Wollmer and Warne Funeral Home in Hooper was in charge.

Burial was at the church cemetery.
