DON JONES RITES HELD SATURDAY

Funeral rites for Donald Jones, a life long resident of Blair and Washington County, were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Blair, the Rev. Melvon Ireland officiating. Pall bearers were Leslie Bucklin, Ernest Stricklett, Sam Haller, Damon Nielsen, Amasa Warrick, and Howard Shanahan, and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born in Blair on June 21, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jones. He grew up in Blair and was employed at the Blair Horse Collar Factory. He also farmed for a time. At the time of his death he was employed at the Port of Entry.

On May 20, 1908, Mr. Jones was married to Ethel Bigelow, and to this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Leth Nielsen (Dorothy) of Blair and Mrs. Albert Wilkins )Margaret) of Grand Island.

Mrs. Jones died thirty years ago, and on June 8, 1944 he was married Ethel Pence at Portland, Oregon, returning to Blair to live.

Besides his wife and his two daughters, other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Charles Pace of Blair, a brother, Ed Jones of Chicago, Illinois, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
