Fred W. Jones, well known man, died at his home in Arlington, Saturday, June 3rd.

He was born at Earlville, Illinois, September 18th, 1877 and at the age of 2 years he came to Nebraska with his family. They settled in the Washington county area near Blair.

His adult life was spent in the building and contracting business and for a time he ran hardware stores at Blair and at Hooper. About twenty years ago he moved to Arlington where he entered the building and cabinet business with his son Walter. He retired from this in 1954.

Mr. Jones was a long-time member of Hiram Lodge No. 52, of Arlington and in March 1960, he was presented a 50-year membership pin.

He was married to Miss Grace Blackstone, September 18, 1912. To this union five children were born. He is survived by his wife, Grace, and three children, Kenneth E., Walter G. of Arlington and Mildred (Mrs. Philip Connely) of Hartington, Nebraska. There are nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church in Arlington and burial, under the direction of the Reckmeyer Funeral Home, was made in the Blair cemetery.
