Mary Alice Hill was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, February 5, 1850 and passed away at her home in Blair on Sunday morning January 13, 1935 at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 8 days. She was married to Warren Jones at Maguon, Illinois, on February 2nd, 1870 and to them several children were born, two dying in infancy.

She with her husband and family, moved to Blair in January 1888 where she has resided since. Her husband passed away 11/24/1915 and since that time she has lived with her two sons, Horace and Donald.

Mrs. Jones was a consistent member of the Methodist church and has lived the part and drawn to her many friends who will miss her greatly.

She leaves to mourn her passing, Mrs. Ed Noyes and Mrs. Charles Pace and Donald and Horace Jones of Blair and Ed Jones of Chicago; also twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Campbell Mortuary with Rev. T. Reese of the Baptist church officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

BLAIR RESIDENT SINCE 1888 DIED AT HOME ON EAST GRANT STREET

Mrs. Warren Jones, aged 84, died at the family home on east Grant Street Sunday morning. She had lived in the Blair area since 1888.

Mrs. Jones, as Mary Alice Hill, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, February 5, 1850. She lived there during the early part of her life. On February 2, 1870, she was married to Warren B. Jones in Maguon, Illinois.

To the couple were born seven children, two of whom died while infants. In January 1888, the Jones family moved to Blair where she had lived continuously during the ensuing 47 years. Since the death of her husband, November 24, 1915, she had lived with her two sons, Horace and Donald.

Mrs. Jones had been affiliated with the Methodist Church since young womanhood, and had long been an active member of that denomination.

Funeral services were held at Campbell Mortuary Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Thomas J. Reese in charge. Burial followed in the Blair Cemetery.

Surviving Mrs. Jones are her five children; Mrs. Ed Noyes, Mrs. Charles Pace, Donald and Horace Jones, all of Blair; and Ed Jones of Chicago. There are 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
