Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at 10:30 a.m. for Edna (Frei) Andersen at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. Dr. Norman E. Schroeder, Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated.

Clarence Andersen, Harvey Andersen, Edward Andersen, Nels (Herman) Andersen, August Andersen, and Ed Andersen were casket bearers. Soloist, Nancy Pearson, sang "Amazing Grace." The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Organist was Mrs. Glen Dayo. Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Edna Frei Andersen was born July 6, 1893 in Quincy, Illinois, to August and Margaret (Gamma) Frei. Edna's father died when she was still in school, consequently she was taken from school in order to help in the store and run errands for her mother.

On June 20, 1922, she was married to Anton Chris Andersen at Omaha, Nebraska. Edna gave birth to one so0n and six daughters. Anton and Edna established their own Miller Park Dairy farm in their first years together. Edna assisted her husband in the dairy operation and was a dedicated homemaker for her family.

She guided her daughters through their confirmation experiences. She loved to garden and maintained a beautiful yard as long as her strength permitted. Anton and Edna retired in the early 1960's and moved to Irvington, Nebraska.

Edna died June 11, 1985, at the age of 91 years, 11 months and five days, while a patient at Immanuel Medical Center. She is survived by one son, Jens Andersen of Omaha, Nebraska; six daughters, Edna Meek of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ruth Hover of Lima, Ohio, Dorothy Christine Andersen of Ashland, Oregon, Edna Marie Klina of Phoenix, Arizona, Margaret Clines of Denver, Colorado, and Joan White of Bourne, Massachusetts; also by one brother - Herbert Frei of Los Angeles, California; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
