Carrie M. Goldberg, 91

Services were Tuesday, October 15, at Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle for Carrie M. Goldberg, 91, of Arlington, who died October 11, 1991, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont. Rev. Scott Postlewait officiated. Burial was in the Fontanelle Cemetery.

Carrie M. Goldberg was born January 18, 1900, on a farm near Herman. She grew up in the Herman area and attended Hill Creek School.

She married Clarence J. Goldberg February 7, 1923, at Blair. After her marriage she lived on a farm nine miles north of Arlington for 44 years. She then lived another ten years on another farm near Arlington before moving into Arlington December 4, 1976.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle and the church’s Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence on October 3, 1976; by her parents, Anton T. and Matina Christensen Kruse; by two infant sons and by brothers, Carl, Bill, Otto, Arvey, Svend, and an infant brother and one grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Goldberg of Arlington and Robert Goldberg of Bennington; a daughter, Vera (Mrs. Gaile) Andrews of Fremont; a brother, Viggo Kruse of Loveland, Colorado; two sisters, Dagmar Kruse of Lincoln and Helen (Mrs. Norris) Larsen of Fremont; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeff Hayden, Randy Hokamp, Wayne Sasges, Dan Davis, Glenn Roumph and Curt Frost.

Honorary pallbearers wee Ronnie Andrews, Greg Andrews, Terry Andrews, Gary Andrews, Bill Wilcox and Jim Bussen.

Esther Langhorst was organist. Nick Janssen was soloist.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Arlington – Carrie M. Goldberg, 91, of Arlington, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1991, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County.

Carrie Kruse was born Jan. 18, 1900, on a farm near Herman. She grew up there and attended Hill Creek School. She lived on a farm nine miles north of Arlington for 44 years and then lived for 10 years on another farm near Arlington. She moved into Arlington in December 1976.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle and its Ladies Aid.

She married Clarence Goldberg Feb. 7, 1923, in Blair. He died Oct. 3, 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Arlington and Robert of Bennington; a daughter, Vera (Mrs. Gaile) Andrews of Fremont; a brother, Viggo of Loveland, Colo.; two sisters, Dagmar Kruse of Lincoln and Helen (Mrs. Norris) Larsen of Fremont; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and a grandson.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. The Rev. Scott Postlewait will officiate. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and an hour before the service at the church Tuesday. Burial will be in Fontanelle Cemetery.
