Kenneth C. Goldberg, 68, of Arlington died Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Charles W. Bichel of Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle is officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery with military graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8332 and American Legion Post No. 71 of Arlington.

Goldberg was born June 15, 1929, in rural Arlington to Clarence and Carrie (Kruse) Goldberg. He grew up northeast of Arlington. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955 and was a staff sergeant. After his discharge he moved to Fremont and started his drywall business, Ken Goldberg Drywall Co. He moved to Arlington in 1964. On Jan. 14, 1949, at Plattsmouth, Neb. he married Barbara Laaker.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 71 and was vice-commander at the time of his death. He was a retired member of the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Wayne Sasges of Grand Island, Neb.; Linda Sheets of Prattville, Ala.; Debra and Daniel Davis of York, Neb. and Brenda and James Bussen of Arlington; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Helen Goldberg of Bennington; a sister, Vera Andrews of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.

Pallbearers are Cliff Wulf, Glen Keeler, Dave Jenkins, Paul Sorensen, Glenn Roumph and Gene Rawlings.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
