MRS. EMMA GOLBORG DIED JUNE 28

ARLINGTON - Mrs. Emma Goldborg, widow of the late Soren Goldborg, age 80 years, died on Wednesday afternoon of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julius Hass, with whom sho was living.

Mrs. Goldborg had not been in good health for the past three years, but death came suddenly, though she was not confined to her bed.

As Emma Anderson, she was born in Sweden in 1863, and came to this country as a young woman with her parents who came to Douglas County. On April 19, 1895 she was married to Soren Goldborg, and a year later they moved to Blair residing in that vicinity until about nine years ago when they retired from active farm life and moved to Arlington. Mr. Goldborg passed away in 1940, and after that Mrs. Goldborg divided her time living with her two daughters, Mrs. Julius Hass and Mrs. Fred Hokamp.

Deceased is survived by two daughters and one son, Clarence Goldborg of this place; also nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Reckmeyer Funeral Parlors and at 2:30 at the Danish Lutheran church near Orum. The choir from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church sang “Beautiful Savior” and “Hear My Prayer” under the direction of Prof. George Bluma.

Pallbearers were William Vogt, Ernest Laaker, Fred Stork, William Kruse, Harry Madsen and Robert Madsen. Burial was made in the Orum cemetery.
