Howard F. Golden, 92

Howard F. Golden died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair after a long struggle with congestive heart failure.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Interment will be at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, one hour prior to services.

Howard Fred Golden was born April 9, 1913, in Blair, to Jess and Martha (Salsburry) Golden.

On March 18, 1936, he married Helen Crom in Mondamin, Iowa. They farmed in the Tekamah-Herman area for many years. In 1981, they sold the farm and moved into Tekamah. Mrs. Golden passed away in 1993.

After his wife’s death in 1993, Mr. Golden married Edith Churchill in 1994. She died in 2004.

In 2003, Mr. Golden suffered a fall, and had resided at Crowell Home until his death.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Barbara Golden of Waukee, Iowa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by a son, James.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
