James "Jim" E. Stratbucker, 75
James "Jim" E. Stratbucker, 75, of Terrell, Texas, formerly of Fort Calhoun and Omaha, died April 6, 2012, in Terrell.
A memorial service will be Saturday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. along with a Masonic service provided by Solomon Lodge 10 A.F. & A.M. at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Inurnment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
James "Jim" Edward Stratbucker was born December 20, 1936, in Fort Calhoun to William and Gertrude Stratbucker.
He was married on October 9, 1965, in Omaha to Iona Hansen.
His main vocation was farming in the Fort Calhoun and Omaha area.
During the last three years, he moved to Terrell and tended to his daughter and son-in-law’s farm there.
His hobbies included gardening, tending an orchard and woodworking. He also was an avid history buff and reader.
He will be remembered most for his humor, love of nature and love of animals.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Diana and Jeff Cook of Dallas, Texas, and Ann Correll of Omaha; granddaughter, Alanna Correll of Omaha; sister, Martha Thibault of Omaha; nieces and their spouses, Julie and George Schluter, Holly Morgan, and Amy and Stan Shaw, all of Omaha; grandnieces, grandnephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Stratbucker; sister, Katherine Stratbucker; brother-in-law, Hyle Thibault; and niece, Cathy Thibault.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
