William Liehr, 84

William Liehr, 84, of Blair, formerly of Omaha, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at his home.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

William Liehr was born October 21, 1927, in Omaha to William John and Doris Kathryne (Biggs) Liehr. He grew up in Omaha and was a graduate of Omaha South High School. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in February of 1946 and was honorably discharged in May of 1947.

On December 4, 1964, he married Betty Wilson.

Mr. Liehr worked and retired from Schemmer Associates and Clarkson Hospital, and served as a deputy sheriff in Douglas County. After retirement, he worked at Ultra Car Wash in Blair. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; children and their spouses, Les D. and Karen Tighe of Elkhorn, Richard L.Tighe and Donna Arnold of Omaha, Mark A. and Annie Tighe of Blair, and Sharon L. and Del Kugel of Wahoo; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry; and sisters, Toodi, Marsha and Marilyn.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
