Mabel I. Goreham, 76

Mabel I. “Onie” Goreham, 76, of Fremont, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 6, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Mabel Iona “Onie” (Sheets) Goreham was born July 16, 1929, in Blair to Will Leonard and Mabel (Lund) Sheets Sr. She grew up in the Herman and Blair area.

On Sept. 2, 1948, she married Leonard L. Goreham St. at Blair. The couple moved to Fremont, where she had since resided. She was employed at the former Campbell’s Soup Co. in Fremont for 30 years until retiring in 1989.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Elaine Goreham Jr. of Fremont; daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Paul Mittura of Fremont; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Mildred Sheets and Wilford and Darlene Sheets, all of Fremont; Milford and Ramona Sheets of Versailles, Mo., and LeRoy and Alice Sheets of Central City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Xona Groves of Blair, Loretta and Kenneth Kleckner of North Bend, and Dorena “Dena” and Robert Dalton of West Monroe, La.; brother-in-law, Leo Goreham of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; three sisters, Inez Goreham, Hazel Richman, and Elizabeth Loges; two brothers, Herald Sheets and Will L. Sheets Jr.
