Rites for Sherman Gosker at First Lutheran Church

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, at First Lutheran Church, Blair, for Sherman P. Gosker, 57, of Arlington, who died March 8, 1983, at Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha after a year-long illness.

The Rev. Carl F. Schattauer, Jr., conducted the services. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Sherman P. Gosker was born July 13, 1925, at Herman to Ernest and Nora Petersen Gosker. He married Mary Lou “Allen” of Blair on December 11, 1949, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Tekamah.

He was a truck driver for Bell Creek Transfer at Arlington. He had lived all his life in the Arlington community.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Spencer Gosker of Tekamah; and a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Sheila) Gottsch of Arlington. A brother, Bernard Gosker, Arlington; and three grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers were William Cameron, Donald Brown, Emmett Rogert, Robert Rasmussen, Jack Wachter and Howard F. Peterson.

Clare Cowling was organist, Karna Anderson was soloist.

Memorials may be made to the Arlington Rescue Squad.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements for the services.
