Services for Emma F. Laaker, 95 of Arbor Manor in Fremont and formerly of Arlington who died June 5, 1992 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont are 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Wendell Hamilton of Fremont will officiate.

There will be visitation Monday until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Emma F. Laaker was born December 20, 1896 in rural Arlington to Carl and Maria Hilgenkamp Vogt. She married Henry F. Laaker February 20, 1924 at Arlington.

She lived on a farm north of Arlington until 1952 when she moved into Arlington.

She was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington and of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was an avid quilter with the LWML.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry September 8, 1974; a daughter, Darlene Hokamp and brothers, William Vogt, Herman Vogt, Fred Vogt, Ed Vogt and Otto Vogt.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Alvin Gnuse of Carpinteria, California; a son-in-law, Albert Hokamp of Arlington; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rupert Vogt, Harris Vogt, Lloyd Vogt, Rupert Hilgenkamp, Donald Lottman and Norman Stork.

Memorials may go to the Lutheran Braille Workers or Concordia Teachers College.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

ARLINGTON - - The funeral for Emma F. Laaker, 95, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

Mrs. Laaker died Friday, June 5, 1992, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. She was a homemaker.

Emma Vogt was born Dec. 20, 1896, in rural Arlington. She lived on a farm north of Arlington until 1952, when she moved into Arlington.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington, a charter member of the Women’s Missionary League and a quilter with the group.

She married Henry Laaker Feb. 20, 1924, at Arlington. He died Sept. 8, 1974.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Lorraine) Gnuse of Carpinteria, California; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and five brothers.

The Rev. Wendell Hamilton will officiate Tuesday’s service. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, both at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, and an hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery at Arlington.

Memorials have been established to the Lutheran Braille Workers and Concordia Teachers College in Seward.
