Iola “Ole” Meierhenry, 100, of Fremont died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Nye Legacy Health & Rehab Center in Fremont.

She was born March 1, 1912, in Havelock to Herbert and Jessie (Hartshorn) Shipman. She was a graduate of Havelock High School. She married Harold Meierhenry on Sept. 10, 1933, in Havelock. The couple farmed near Telbasta for 50 years until moving to Fremont in 1979.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 375, Order of Eastern Star at Havelock and was a former member of Havelock Congregational Church. She was a former member of E.U.B. Telbasta Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of the Pleasant Hour Club and the Bakers Dozen Sunshine Club at Telbasta. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Fremont.

Survivors include: her husband, Harold; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Orvin Scheer of Arlington, Marilyn and Phil Katt of Fremont and Judy and Vernon Geisler of Hooper; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Fremont with the Rev. Susan Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials may be given to the church or Camp Fontanelle.
