Milton T. Hansen, 76

Services for Milton T. Hansen, 76, of Omaha, who died Jan. 6, 1997, at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha were Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Milton T. Hansen was born at Nelson, Nebr., Feb. 24, 1920, to Louis and Marie Tolstrup Hansen. He moved to Blair at a young age. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1936.

He served in the U. S. Air Corps, in World War II in the Pacific Theater, flying 85 missions. He served 2 ½ years in New Guinea and was an engineer on the B-17 bombers. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1943, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon and a Bronze Battle Star. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was partner with Wayne Steinbaugh in a furniture and appliance store in Blair for many years. He retired from an engineering job at the Doctor’s Building in Omaha in 1990.

He married Lora Lee Larsen in 1955.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred Altekruse and a brother, Lyle Hansen, who lost his life in World War II.

He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Elva Hansen of Blair; Edward and Patricia Hansen of Gig Harbor, Wash.; nieces, Judy Bogle of Reno, Nev.; Pam Kellerman of Gig Harbor and Diane Rogert of Herman and nephews, Ronnie R. Hansen of Blair; Larry Hansen of Herman; Edward Hansen, Jr. of Sacramento, Calif. and Terri Grasnick of Omaha.
