Leonard M. “Len” Zoucha, 77, of Fremont died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

He was born July 21, 1934, in rural Albion to John and Anna (Zoucha) Zoucha. He attended schools in the Boone County and Platte County area and served in the Nebraska National Guard. He married Ivy Carter on Jan. 21, 1956, in Emporia, Kan. In the early 1960s, he was co-owner of Zoucha Brothers Tavern in St. Edward. In 1965, the couple moved to the Arlington area where he worked for Rhea Cattle Company. Len and Ivy owned Ivy’s Bar and Grill in Hooper from 1970 to 1983. Len was employed at Monke Brothers Fertilizer Plant and Fontanelle Hybrids, at their Nickerson plant for 30 plus years and was the plant manager for many years. He retired in May 2000.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

Survivors include: his wife, Ivy; sons, Shane (and wife, Laura) Zoucha and Dennis (and wife, Jayne) Zoucha, all of Fremont; daughters, Nancy (and husband, Greg) Ellis and Roxanne (and husband, Steve) Patrick, all of Fremont; brothers, Richard Zoucha of Omaha and James Zoucha of Genoa; sister, Clare Olsufka of Omaha; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.

The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont with the Revs. James Keiter and Ron Battiato officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at a rosary/vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials may be given to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
