Jonni R. Minor, 30, of Blair died Saturday, Nov. 22, following an auto accident on Interstate 29, south of Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Amana Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Minor was born Aug. 22, 1967, in Plymouth, N.H. to John O. and Betty (Knudsen) Minor. She was a 1985 graduate of Blair High School. She also had a degree as a certified nursing assistant. At the time of her death, she was employed with Fru-Con Construction Company, as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors are her son, J. J. Johnson of Blair; her mother, Betty Minor of Blair; her father, John O. Minor of Liberty, Tex.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Valerie and Ken Gilmore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Tracy and Erik Higgs of Wichita, Kan.; Susan Eix of Fremont; her grandmother, Ethel Knudsen of Herman; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the J. J. Johnson Fund, which has been set up to benefit her son, J. J., at the Washington County Bank.

Blair Woman Killed In Car Crash In Iowa

A one-car crash claimed the life of Jonni Minor, 30, of Blair early Saturday morning, the Iowa State Patrol reported.

Ms. Minor was the passenger in a 1981 Chevrolet Malibu Classic driven by Marc Leonard, 37, of Mondamin, Iowa.

The vehicle was southbound on Interstate 29 about a mile north of Loveland, Iowa, near the Boyer River Bridge, when it crashed into a guardrail.

The patrol reported that the driver lost control and crashed into the guardrail causing extensive damage to the passenger side of the car.

Leonard reportedly fled the scene and had to be tracked down by Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies. He was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain control.

Leonard is currently being held by Harrison County Sheriff Terry Baxter. He is being held on a $34,060 bond for suspicion of vehicular homicide. The accident remains under investigation.

A 1985 graduate of Blair High School, Ms. Minor was employed at Fru-Con Construction Company. For a complete obituary, see Page 4.
